Sept 2 - Chimneytop Mountain

summit, Chimneytop offers a spectacular 360-degree view. After the descent we'll have
lunch at High Hampton Inn or Cornucopia.

- Meet at the Amore Café by 8:45 am. (Park at the Citgo.) Leave at 9 am. Usually back by
lunch unless noted.

Sept 23 - Greenland Creek Falls and Carlton Falls
Greenland Creek Falls -- Easy
Carlton Falls -- Moderate
(Details)
It's an easy hike to Greenland Creek Falls and back. Those who want to can go further, to
Holly Falls. This part of the hike is moderately difficult. (Since I'll be going on to Carlton
Falls, those who want to only hike to Greenland Creek Falls will return to the cars on their
own.)
Sept 16 - Rhapsodie Falls
Strenuous (Details)
This is a strenuous hike to two dramatic waterfalls. The trail is steep and crosses a low creek
several times, so bring sturdy shoes that will keep your feet dry. A hiking stick may help with
the rock hopping over the creek. The base of each of the falls is a nice spot to rest and eat
a snack, so bring two snacks along!
Sept 9 - Rough Run Falls
Moderate (Details) This is an easy hike near Cashiers, north of Lake Glenville. It’s a mostly
level walk to two waterfalls. The first, High Falls, is a dramatic strait drop. A few minutes
further is the tow-tiered Rough Run Falls. The rocks surrounding the pool at the base of the
waterfall is a good spot to rest and eat a picnic.
Sept 30 - .Black Rock
Moderate (Details)
There is a great view of Panthertown Valley from this rocky outcropping looking across to
Little Green and Big Green mountain. In mid-October the fall color should be near its peak,
offering a gorgeous panorama. Bing a snack; those who want to can eat lunch in Cashiers
or Sapphire.
